Tying Threads of Kindness

A hands-on mission of care led by Chapel Hill’s United Women in Faith. Each blanket is a simple but meaningful gift, offering warmth, comfort, and a reminder that someone cares. This growing ministry has already created more than 110 blankets for people in need.

A Simple Gift with a Big Impact

The goal of the Fleece Blanket Project is to make five blankets each month. These adult-sized tied fleece blankets are shared with Food Pantry guests, individuals receiving emergency food boxes, people experiencing homelessness, and others facing difficult circumstances.
What may seem like a small act of kindness can make a very real difference in someone’s day — and sometimes in their season of need.

Support the Mission

There are several ways to support the Fleece Blanket Project. Financial donations are always welcome and help provide the materials needed to continue making blankets. Michael's gift cards are also especially helpful and can be purchased through the RaiseRight gift card program.
Every gift helps this ministry continue to wrap neighbors in warmth, dignity, and care.

Where Service Meets Creativity

Every 4th Monday of each month at 7 pm

The group meets monthly at the church from April to October in Conference Room A or B. During November through March, occasional daytime sessions are also held. Participants are encouraged to watch announcements or the calendar for updated times and locations.
Whether you come regularly or help when you can, every blanket made helps extend warmth to someone who needs it.
