Through this special ministry, children are reminded that they are seen, valued, and loved. Reading Connection is a weekly outreach that brings stories, encouragement, and meaningful relationships to children at Chapel Hill Village Apartments and Townhomes.

Where Stories and Friendship Meet

The Reading Connection serves an average of 10 to 12 children, ages 4–10, in a fun and caring environment. Each week, kids have the chance to listen, learn, and engage with volunteers who are passionate about making a difference in their lives. 
More than just a reading group, this ministry creates a space where children can grow in confidence, curiosity, and community.

Books to Treasure

One of the most exciting parts of Reading Connection is that, at many meetings, children get to choose a book of their own to keep. Thanks to generous donations and grant funding, hundreds of books have been given away over the years. 
Every other week, the Indianapolis Public Library Bookmobile visits, giving children even more opportunities to discover books they can borrow and enjoy. This added partnership expands the children’s access to reading materials and helps keep their excitement for books growing.
These books help encourage a love of reading at home and give each child the gift of building a library of their very own.
